Is there a way to get Entourage to automatically BCC e-mails as they
are sent? It would save me a lot of typing!
Thanks

1- Download Jon's Commands fromhttp://osaxen.com/files/jonscommandsx3.0d3.html
2- After unstuffit the file, Move the "Jon¹s Commands.osax" file in the
"Library/ScriptingAdditions" folder
3- Download "AddBCCor CC E 1.1" script from
<http://scriptbuilders.net/files/addbccorccentourage1.1.html>
4- After decompression, move the "AddBCCor CC E1.1" file in the
"Users/account/Documents/Microsoft Users Data/Entourage Script Menu Items"
folder
5- Launch Entourage
6- Open a new mail to send
7- Execute once "AddBCCor CC E 1.1" script from Script menu (1st time). Go
in the the "script" menu on the right of "Help" menu. Choose "AddBCCor CC
E 1.1"
8- write email address in CC orBCCrecipient (Cci in french)
9- Execute "AddBCCor CC E 1.1" script again (2nd time) (see line #7)
Close mail to send window without saving. That's all.
TheBCCis memorized by the script. You don't have to execute script again
except if you want to modify theBCCaddress. Each time the user send a
mail, a copy is sent to theBCCwithout to put an address in theBCC
recipient. It's automatic and transparent. If the user doesn't know the
script, he or she sees nothing. You don't have to repeat the operation
again.
I have followed these instructions but Add bcc does not work
automatically. The script works but it does not seem to memorize the
bcc address and/or does not add it automatically to messages when
composed. In other words, it is not silently adding the bcc
automatically to messages to be sent.
I'm running Entourage 2004 (11.3.6) on an IMac G5 1.83 Ghz, 1 GB SDRAM
running Mac OS X Leopard (10.5.1). I am using a PoP email account.
The best option is to contact the script author when you are having
problems. Paul Berkowitz is usually good about responding to requests for
help.
Might I suggest you get more memory. 1 GB is barely enough to get by. If you
up your memory to 2GB it will be like getting a new computer. It will fit
perfectly into your Christmas stocking.
Thanks for your reply Diana.
Actually, the IMac G5 20" is the "Kitchen" Computer in our house. I
use a 17" MacBook Pro - 2.33 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo - 2 GB SDRAM with a
30" Apple Cinema Display. It's amazing how well our IMac G5 has been
working ever since we purchased it in November 2004. This baby has
never crashed. It was our first Mac and that's why we converted all
our PC's to Mac's thereafter. But, it wouldn't be a bad idea toadd1
more GB of memory to it...
Best Regards and a Happy Holiday Season.
