Rules that actually scan the source code

Hi,

Does anyone know a way to create a rule in Outlook 2003 which actually will
do a specified activity when a string match occurs scanning the source code
of a message?

I have set up a rule to look for a certain string in the source code of a
message when it comes into the Inbox. I've selected the "with specific words
in the body" description. It doesn't work, probably because it's scanning on
a higher level, not actually scanning the source code.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks in advance,
Blenvid

Alas, rules in Outlook do not do well with messages that are HTML.

The trick is to add a DWORD registry value named SaveAllMIMENotJustHeaders to the HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Outlook\Options\Mail key. That will force Outlook to save the entire message as the "headers," so you should be able to use a "specified text in message header" rule condition.
