Rules with Wild Cards

Will Outlook 2003 rules support wild card characters? I would also like to
move emails that contain "part" of a word, for example I receive emails in
the subject that contain the words: server1, server2, server3 etc.. and would
like to filter them based on part of the word "server".

no wild cards

yes just say contains server and all those with server will follow the rule.
They can say hamburgerserver or server3 and the rule will run.

I have the same problem trying to filter subject by parts of a word in
Outlook 2003, pretty much the same thing as with "server1" "server2" etc.
I´ve tried "contains server" in rules but it doesn´t work for me.

For example: I get e-mails with AB-CDE/FGH12 or AB-CDE/FHG23 as subjects and
I want to sort out every e-mail containing "AB-CDE". Writing "contains
AB-CDE" as a rule and it didn´t work for me. Could it be a problem with the
hyphen or the slash???

Post your exact rule and a real example of what you think it should find but
doesn't.

What I want it to sort out is dosens of e-mails like LN-RON/MEL0001,
LN-RON/DEF0001, LN-RON/MEL0002 and so on amongst hundreds of e-mails like
LN-ROS/MEL0001, OY-KGR/DEF98789 etc etc. There´s an endless amount of
combinations and I get a hundred of these e-mails a day that i right now
manually have to sort myself.

Those aren't exact rules. An exact rule might be:

Apply this rule after the message arrives
with _LN-RON_ in the subject
move it to the _LN-RON_ folder
and mark it as read
and stop pressing more rules

What I want it to sort out is dosens of e-mails like LN-RON/MEL0001,
LN-RON/DEF0001, LN-RON/MEL0002 and so on amongst hundreds of e-mails
like LN-ROS/MEL0001, OY-KGR/DEF98789 etc etc. There´s an endless
amount of combinations and I get a hundred of these e-mails a day
that i right now manually have to sort myself.

I can't see any reason why the rule I describe above would not do what you
want.

Hi All,

I need to create a rule that is simular. I receive emails on a daily basis,
that has fixed text, then the date. When I create a Rule that searches for
the fixed text in the subject line the rule does not find the email which
contains the fixed text with the date.
