rules wizard doesn't run automatically

I use Office 2002 and AVG spam-filter which works a bit like Norton. It only
tags the spam mometarily after it arrives in my inbox. I believe that this is
why it won't automatically move to my deleted items (which is the rule I set
up using rules wizard). How do I get the items tagged "spam" to move
automatically once they are in my inbox?

It isn't that the rule isn't running. It sounds like that the rule is
running *before* the AVG spam-filter tags the message. If you do a run
rules now and run the rule you've created, does the mail get moved?

our assesment it correct I think. If I run rules now, the mail
moves, however as you can imagine it would be better if I didn't
have to do this manually everytime I want to move spam from my
inbox. If there anyway to "run the rule" on a regular basis like
send/receive for example?

Nope.

Have you checked with Grisoft to see if they offer any 'auto-delete'
functionality in their product?

no- i have searched the product and I don't think it does. What about Outlook. can I take it that there is no way round this?

Not that I can think of. You can't programmatically run rules, so that's
out. There's no command line option to run a rule. About the only thing
you could do is alter your filter so as not to show you the messages that
start with [SPAM] and set up a recurring reminder to run the rule manually
so they don't take up too much space.
