Rules wizard - odd behavior

I created a few rules to move messages from one POP account to a specified
folder. I select "through specified account". After creating the rule and
closing the wizard, I reopened the rules wizard and found that the account
listed in the "through specified account" option changed. I corrected the
change and clicked APPLY. After doing that, immediately the account listed
in the "through specified acocunt" option changed back to the wrong account.
I deleted the rule and created a new rule, using the same parameters. The
same behavior occurs.
Here's an example of what I am talking about:

Rule (Tim) to check for messages through specified account (Tim) - move to
(Tim) folder. This rule works and does not exhibit the odd behavior.
Rule (Linda) to check for messages through specified account (Linda) - move
to (Linda) folder. After closing the rules wizard and reopening it, the rule
changes to check for messages through specified account (Tim) - move to
(Linda) folder.
Rule (Another) to check for messages through specified account (Another) -
move to (Another) folder. Same behavior as rule (Linda)
Rule (YetAnother) to check for messages through specified account
(YetAnother) - move to (YetAnother) folder. Behavior is normal.

Why does this happen?

Did you ever make any progress with this issue... I am having the EXACT same
problem.
