How can I run a rule against multiple folders. I am used to archive from outlook and since Entourage does not support that I created a rule to move large or old files to the mailbox on my computer but I have to left click on each folder to run it. I have lots of subfolders and it does not run against the subfolders automatically

I don't think you can use rules to do this. Rules are designed to act on
messages either when they arrive in the Inbox or exit the Outbox.

Have you considered writing an AppleScript to do this instead? It might be
complicated but I'm reasonably sure it is possible.

This might be better handled with a custom Mail View. Saved searches become
custom mail views in Entourage 2008.

If you could tell us what your rule is that works, we could probably give
you the best way to do this. It sounds like you are trying to create .pst
files.

For a saved search (custom mail view) you would select in the view all the
folders and use a date criteria. When this view is updated, you get all
mails in one view. You can then drag the icon the mail view to the desktop
like a folder to create an MBOX file.

Another way if you want to keep the mail in their own folder... run the
custom view and assign a category like "special" to the messages in the
view. Then you can use File --> Export --> Entourage archive (.rge) file -->
Category "special." You can select to delete after exporting.
