Run a macro

Hi,
I have a sheet full of nodes which are connected together,my goal is
to select one of these nodes and be able to show the connections,so I
decided to record a macro and see what would come up :after pressing
on the record button, I select the node then I seleected all the
connections to that node,and finally I stoped the macro,but on the
editor the macr was empty.
my question is:How to record my macro,so I will see the commends
