Run Macro like AutoNew but not on Tempalte

Hi All,
I have a Word 2000 Template with a bookmark to "Starttext". When you open
the template the AutoNew Macro I works great. But once you save the
document it looses the macro settings. But anytime that document is opened
I want it to start at the same bookmark, as when it was a new document based
on the template, is this possible??

Thank you for your help!

Hi, Kerri,

The AutoNew macro runs only when you create a *new* document from the
template that contains that macro. To make a macro that runs when you
*open* an existing document, it must be named AutoOpen. (Makes sense,
no?) So make a copy of the AutoNew macro -- in the same place in the
same template -- and change the name of the copy to AutoOpen, so you
now have both macros. Save the template, and open any of the documents
based on it.

This depends, of course, on you not deleting the bookmark as you edit
the document. To make that less of a problem, go to Tools > Options >
View and check the box for Bookmarks so you can see it.
