Using Access 2000.
Sort of a newbie and wondering if there are programs out there that will run
my mde file for my client without him having to buy Access.

Any links, suggestions or comments appreciated.

Thanks,

James

Yes and no. A .mde file cannot be "run" without using Microsoft Access
to run it; however, you can purchase the appropriate version of the
"Developers' Edition" of Access for your version of Access (they keep
changing the name of it, now I think it's Visual Studios Tools for
Office:

This will (among other things) let you create a "runtime" version of
Access which can be distributed, royalty-free, to users who need to
use Access databases.

You can use the DATA in your database if you have
Excel, Word, VB or any number of other applications.

The FORMS and REPORTS can only be used with Access.
