run-time error '7' out of memory

Running Windows 2000 Service Pack 3, Office XP (2002)

When I open an Excel spreadsheet and gets a box with the error: Run-Time
error '7' out of memory. I select Help and an empty gray box opens. If I
close both boxex the file appears.

Tried usind Detect and Repair but it made no difference.

Any help is appreciated!
