run time error

Word recently froze up while using it, and now when I
open it, I receive the following:
Run-time error'-2147024809 (80070057)':Can't move focus
to the control base because it is invisible, not enabled,
or of a type that does not acept the focus.
I can click on End and open Word, but there is no toolbar
at the top and no file, edit, view, help and no ability
to print anything.
Does anyone have any ideas or have you seen this before?
