RunApp

We just converted from Access 2000 to 2003. Is there a reason why all macros
using the runapp command will not run? All of them get an error message.

Is there another command that is replacing Runapp?

Ed,

What is the error message? What is an example of the Command Line argument?

Steve,
Here is an example of a command line from a runapp macro.

This line worked fine before the conversion. Also the path before the
conversion was to ..\microsoft office\office\msaccess.exe... and not office11.

everything else was the same.

"M:\program files\microsoft
office\office11\msaccess.exe""s:\accounting\collections\cash\ts-cash.mdb"/x
group macro

This runapp would run the "group macro" from the ts-cash.mdb
I don't have the error message at this time but I could reproduce if needed.

Thanks,

Ed Picillo

Ed,

Well, knowing what the error message says would be helpful in trying to
know what's wrong. Anyway, try a few minor adjustments... There should
be a space between the msaccess path and the database path. And there
should be a space before the /x switch. And I have never tried this
with a macro with a space in its name... can you rename the macro with
no space and give it a try. Like this...
"M:\program files\microsoft office\office11\msaccess.exe"
"s:\accounting\collections\cash\ts-cash.mdb" /x groupmacro

Steve,

I just could not get that to work. I went ahead and created a module and
used the Shell routine. It worked fine. When I get some free time I'll try
your suggestion again.

Thanks,

Sure, Ed. As I said, I can't comment unless you can say what the error
is, or what "doesn't work" means.
