running app from usb stick

Hi all....Is there a way to install and run ms project from a usb stick? I
am working at site where s/w cannot be installed to the local pc's but need
to run project. I have project 2003 pro and need to build a plan urgently.

As far as I know Project (or most other applications) can only be
installed in the Windows environment. I guess if the USB stick was such
that you could load Windows, (doubtful since I think Windows requires
installation on bootable media), then you could also install whatever
applications you need, up to the limits of the stick of course.

It sounds like what you need is your own laptop so you have the
applications you need to do whatever. You don't say why software can't
be installed on local PCs at the site but another option might be a
server based installation. That doesn't necessarily mean you need to
have Project Server, which is its own entity, but use Project that has
been installed on a server which is accessible to local PCs.

What is the reason behind this policy? Is it a security thing to stop
viruses and the like being introduced? If so, then running it from a
USB stick is unlikely to satisfy them.
