since the last office 2008 update, word 2004 won't open anymore. it hangs on project gallery and has to be force quit. opening document directly does not work either. ANY ADVICE?
prefer word 2004 because it runs more stable. word 2008 gives me lots of unexpected crashes, snail slow saves, scrambled display (you scroll down the page and suddenly the lines look jumbled, you scroll over it again and they look fine). entourage 2008 runs fine.
tried deleting word 2004 (with the 2008 remove office program) and reinstalling (using setup assistant)... same result. in fact, the setup assistant hung up on me couple of times before it finally worked.
grrr. i NEVER had any trouble on tiger with office 2004. nothing but headaches since i bought a macbook air with all the fixins and spent a fortune on office 2008 (because entourage 2004 did not run well on leopard)! but ... it IS a very light & convenient machine, that is why i have not thrown it out the window yet.
