running sum problem

I have a report, which shows employee pay by day (grouped
by employeeID). I want to show a group total of all days
for that employee in the group footer. The day total is
from [payrate]*[units] and it works fine. To show the goup
total, I'm putting =Sum([payrate]*[units]) in the group
footer, with running sum on group. When I try to run the
report, I'm getting prompted for the payrate parameter.
What am I doing wrong? What do I need to do to fix this
problem?

Is [payrate]*[units] calculated on the report or within the underlying
query? I suspect maybe the actual field [payrate] is not included in the
underlying query, just the calculated day total.
