Running Word 2002 (or Office XP) from a CD

John Brown

I would like to know how to run MS Word 2002 (or Office
XP) from a CD-ROM. I am trying to print out a resume on
the laser printer at the library. Every time I save it
under an extension other than .doc, it changes the format
and I have to spend a lot of time reformatting it. If I
try to save it at the library, when I open it on my
computer I have to go through the same process of
reformatting it.

If there is a software that can open Word documents and
save documents in the Word format (BESIDES WORD!!!), I
would really like to hear about it.

Thank you;
JB

Hello John,

You have posted on the wrong newsgroup -- this one deals only with Word on
the Macintosh, and our very different operating system puts your problems on
the Windows platform outside the experience of most people who discuss
things here. You'll get the best replies in one of the many Word MVP
newsgroups that doesn't have "mac" in the title.

Cheers,

Save it as a PDF if the library has a full version of Adobe Acrobat
installed.

As to your second question Corel WordPerfect and Lotus WordPro save and open
..doc files; as do most open source Word Processors.

Most of the word processors are cross platform.
