Runtime 1004 - Programmatic Access to VB is not trusted

Hi!
Here is the situation:
Excel is up and running, happily requesting data from an
XLL (which communicates with a server directly) on a timer.

Middle of the day, it crashes with the Runtime 1004 error
without any human intervention. This has happened everyday
for the past week now, and is driving everyone (mostly me)
mad!

ANY ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Also,
I get an application error immediately afterwards
"EXCEL.exe has generated errors and will be closed by
Windows", and Excel terminates. I've tried both Excel 2002
(XP) and Excel 2000 with Win XP. The Runtime 1004 does not
occur with the Excel 2000, but the application error still
occurs.
