"Runtime error 1004" when trying to cut and paste

Can anyone tell me why I get this error above when I simply try to cut and
paste in Excel 2003?
Using XP O/s

"Runtime error 1004" "Method range of object Global failed"

I can cut and paste using the mouse with not problems, and this error is
produced on all excel documents.
