Runtime error '5'

hi,
I'm running a vba-macro that always ran smoothly but as of today it doesn't
function. Anybody an idea what the reason is. I did do a clean-install of my
system (currently OS 10.3.5) and of excel.
It runs the first line
.FormatConditions.Delete
.FormatConditions.Add Type:=xlExpression, Formula1:= _
"=MOD(ROW(),2)=0"
but stops at the second.
Any help is appreciated,
