Runtime Error Word XP

When I try to use word, I get this message if I do not
save the file immediately. RUNTIME ERROR Program
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\winword.exe
Abnormal program termination.

My only choice is to click OK. It then automatically
shuts the program down, and I cannot save my
information. When I reopen, the recovered file will be
available. If I open it, I immediately get the message
and it shuts down again.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
