Runtime Error!

When I try to start Word 2002 (10.6612.6626 SP3) I get:

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime Error!
Program: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\WINWORD.EXE
abnormal program termination

I can start in Safe Mode but cannot find anything to change to be able to
start normally. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Word to no avail.
