Whenever I try to access a Word attachment sent via email (Outlook Express),
I receive the following error:
MS Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime Error!
Program: C/ProgramFiles/MSOffice/Office10/WINWORD.exe
When I click on the document, it says: Abnormal Program Termination!
I do have Word on my computer via MS Works; I believe it's Word 2002.
I have checked out various error messages on different boards, but none of
the problems seem to involve Word. I am losing a lot of vital information
(via attachments), and I am at my wit's end.
Microsoft says:
Cause:
This problem may occur if the Works in Word Suite Add-in is installed on
your computer.
Resolution:
To resolve this problem, remove the Works in Word Suite Add-in. To do this,
follow these steps.
After you remove the Works in Word Suite Add-in, Word may not be available
from the Works Task Launcher.
However, there is NOTHING said about reinstalling Works or Word. So, it
seems the "fix" is worse that the ailment, so to speak.
I'm hopeful that someone out there has either run across this before or has
some good suggestions to share.
Thanks so very much for your help.
