%s in Accounting Format

I am using Excel 2007.

I want to have a column that lists percentages - but to still be able
to use the accounting single underline correctly. When I manipulate
the accounting format to _(*#,##0.00%_) the underlining is not
correct. If I use the accounting format I cannot get "%" signs.

Thanks.

Hi,

Please show us an example of what the cell should look like when its
formatted as you want. When you say the underlining isn't correct what do
you mean?

Cheers,
Shane

Hi again,

I have to say that using your sample format doesn't give anything of use:
the results are

##, 123456.00%

You're not telling us something?

Cheers,
Shane

I don't know how to show an example - because I can't make it do that
and when I copy paste the underlines do not come with. But the
accounting single underline should almost reach the edges of the cell
- but not completely connect to the next cell. With how I have it
formatted now the underline does not go under the percentage sign on
the right and the left side goes further left than the numbers but not
as far as it should. So it doesn't look correct in a whole table of
data.

You are right my custom format was not quite written correctly it is
actually _(*###0.00%_) . Sorry

I don't understand what you mean by underlines,
default accounting format does not have visible underlines?

The accounting underlines cannot be used unless you are using the
accounting number format. The accounting format doesn't take into
consideration percentages.

Format Cells > Custom >
_(* 0.00%_);_(* (0.00%);_(* "- %"_);_(@_)
Font > Underline > Single/Double
Don't use Accounting Single/Double.
Note: There is a space after the stars.
