Safe mode and error loop

Excel 2002 sp1 suddenly crashed on a win2000 machine for a user.

Tried detect and repair and no change, will only open in safe mode which
seems pretty useless !

If I log onto the pc as administrator excel is fine so somehow it is corrupt
for the user profile ??

Hope someone can help .

Sometimes, the file that holds the customized toolbar gets corrupted and causes
excel heartache when opening. Use Windows start button|Find| and search for
*.xlb. You may have to search for hidden files within hidden folders.

If that's not it, maybe it was an addin that is causing the crash. Chip Pearson
