SageKey Installer Help Needed

Max Moor

Hi,
A while back, I started using the SakeKey installer to package my app.
I use the MSI wizard for Access 2002.

A customer called, unable to run the app. They have XP Professional,
with Office 2000 installed. After my app installs, with the Access 2002
runtime, my app won't run. All of the files seem to have been installed, but
they get the error that "The database file <path to database> is invalid."

I installed office 2000 on my XP Pro test machine, and then installed
my app with SageKey. The first time I run my app, the windows installer
comes up, saying it's installing the <myappname> componenet. When that
finishes, the app just sits there. If I restart it, I get the invalid file
error.

I thought my app should run with the 2002 runtime, totally
independently of the office 2000 files. Something's not right though.

Can anyone give me a clue? I'm in really hot water!

Thanks, Max

Hi Max,

Have you done a search using the SageKey Knowledge Base yet? I just
tried to, to help you out, but they require a login so I'm out of luck.

http://www.sagekey.com/support_login.aspx?forward=support_kb_search

I'd also try contacting them if the SageKey KB search doesn't produce an
answer.

Good Luck,

Hi Tom,
I tried the SageKey knowledgebase first, but couldn't find any
articles that sounded appropos. I tried looking at some far out thoughts,
but all the pages came back unable to be viewed. Maybe their server is
having trouble?

Anyway, I kept looking, and found that the application icon is trying
to run my app using "RunAccess.exe" in the runtime area, rather than
"MSAccess.exe". When I change it to "MSAccess.exe" it works fine.

Now, my question is what RunAccess.exe is and is for, and why the
installer is using that on the icon. Always more to figure out...
