Same old message keeps dropping in

I am having a strange problem. with Outlook 2007 An old message with the same
(constant) subject line and same sender (essentially the same old email)
keeps dropping into my mail bag whenever a new message from anybody else
come. This new message gets tagged onto this old message and becomes pretty
garbled when it pops into my Inbox. I have removed that old message I had
from my IN and DELETED folders permanenetly but it is still happening,
forcing me to read my email on the server. On the server it shows fine, only
in Outlook the new message gets tagged to the old one. Any idea what is
happening here? I ran the diagnostics on Outlook also but didn't help. It is
a recent phenomenon and also doesn't hapen all the time but when it does, it
is a total mess.

Oops, I reread that the message is still on the server. Does it still come
in when you move it to another folder on the server?
Which mail account type are you using?

Hi Diane, Yes, I already did that many days ago but still get it...deleted
from everywhere, server in, then from deleted items, ditto on my Outlook. I
did forget to add, I have 3 email accounts set up in this profile and it is
tagging this message onto the messages coming in the other 2 emails too -
thus, it can't be an isue on the server as all 3 servers are different. it
has to be something in Outlook which is causing this.

Can you move or delete the message from the server?

How do I do that, Roady? I couldn't find any info on how to on your page on
your site.

No, the message is not on the server anywhere (In or Deleted). I also removed
it from In and Deleted of OL. But somehow it is still popping it! I have done
this twice i.e. deletion from everywhere. All 3 email accounts on this
profile get their messages tagged onto this one email so I am inclined to
think it is not a server issue as Aol (one of the 3 servers) has nothing to
do with sympatico server (which actually works through Hotmail), neither does
the other one which is avsmacon.com

All 3 are completely different - the email in question came on my sympatico
(hotmail) server. On the web, I see all new emails fine, only into my OL
Inbox they get dropped in as tagged to this rogue email.

It would depend greatly on the virus scanner solution that you are using.
For some disabling the mail scanning feature is sufficient,
for others you specifically need to disable its integration,
for still others you'll have to reinstall the virus scanner solution without
the mail scanning feature.

The first option usually isn't the case, the second one often requires a bit
more technical skills and the 3rd option is by far the easiest and most
efficient. The documentation for your virus scanner might give an outcome on
this as well. If you are using Norton; it's a reinstall for sure.
