Same Outlook 2003 PST data file opened numerous times

My PST data source is opened three times in Outlook 2003 - it's the same data
source file. It won't let me close it; I've tried renaming the data source
file, but then I can't open Outlook at all. Has anyone experienced this same
problem? If so, how did you fix it? Additionally, I've been trying to use
MS Office's "backup" program and I uninstalled it, then tried to reinstall
it, but it keeps telling me there's already an Outlook backup program running
and to uninstall it first before installing a new one... I'm guessing it may
have something to do with the multiple opening of the same data source file??
If anyone has a suggestion on how to fix both of these problems, I would be
grateful! Thanx in advance!!

This means your mail profile is corrupted and needs to be recreated. For

As for your backup add-in issue see;

Roady, thanx for the help - it's been that way for about a year and driving
me crazy! One additional question on the data source file - once I've
created my new profile... how do I get all my old stuff over to the new
profile? I tried importing... only wants from Outlook Express... so... how
do I get all my old folders and mail into the new profile I just created??
