Same problem

Am having the same problem. Have tried all suggested fixes. Running
Word 2008 version 12.1.0. Cannot get my machine to take the 12.2.0 or
12.2.3 updates. Working on a Power PC G5 Mac. Also running it on my
MacBook - version 12.2.3. Not having the problem on that machine.

Any other suggestions?

Unfortunately the only text from you or anyone else that the regular
volunteers in this newsgroup have seen with this thread is your 5 lines
below -- i.e., we have not seen any of the earlier remarks. That's because
we are on a different server from the Mactopia server that you came through.
Some of the time, the Mactopia server fails to pass the posts on.

So we're somewhat in the dark at the moment.

Please give us full details of your problem (describe *exactly* what is
happening, since we can only go on what you tell us). Mention the latest Mac
OS update you have applied, and say exactly what happens re "Cannot get my
machine to take the 12.2.0 or 12.2.3 updates".

Please get back to us via a new post that alludes to the problem in the
subject line.

With luck, your next post will also come through and we can then understand
your problem and provide a solution. :)

But to make absolutely sure we see your post, you could take the action
recommended at http://word.mvps.org/Mac/AccessNewsgroups.html under "Access
via newsreaders" and "Setting up Entourage for newsreading".

First of all, make sure you have your flavor of OS X fully updated -- Since
you don't specify we have no way of knowing.

The most common causes of this type of problem are addressed here:
