same query over multiple columns

Can anyone tell me how to do this please? I have, in
design view, a query with ten columns. Each column
contains a names.

If in the "criteria" box, in the first colunm, i search
for "SMITH" it will find all the smiths in column A. But
how can I run the query to search for "smith" accross ALL
the other columns at the same time??

Thanks for any help someone may give.

This sounds like an un-normalized table structure. However, you can enter
"SMITH" under each of the ten columns but all in different lines in the
criteria.
