Sample Data / Database

I just set up a test server which included the sample data for Project 2003. I also followed the instructions (sampledb.htm) to set up the sample database.

When I go to view a risk or anyhting that has to do with SharePoint services, I receive the following error:

"The documents, risks, and issues features in Project Web Access use Windows Sharepoint Services.

The is a problem establishing a connection with the web server running Windows Sharepoint Services. Contact your System Administrator."

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Michael,

Sounds like you're using a project server authenticated account when you log in to project web access. If so it won't connect to the sharepoint server and retrieve any of the sharepoint data (documents, issues, risks).

If you want to use documents, issues, and risks you need to setup an Active Directory or use an existing one that will house all of your project server accounts. Then when you setup the users in project server you specify the domain\username for each user that will login to project web access. Ideally (at least the way Micro$oft see it) you put your project server into an existing domain and voila, you're ready to go.

Hope that helps.
