TG

I am having a problem with Microsoft Project Server 2003 Sample
Database configuration. While Extending Windows SharePoint Sites; when
i create *Content Database* it give me error of DB Owner Permissions.
Even i already assigned permissions to my newly created database. In
help it shows while create new content database i will have to give SQL
User Name and Password; but there is no field asking for this
information. Following is the error:

The account being used by Windows SharePoint Services to connect to
database 'MPSWSSSampleDatabase' on server '<<ServerName>>' is not the
database owner (DBO). For more information, please refer to Knowledge
Base article 841216 at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=45207.

When i follow the steps in above mentioned link of microsoft; it
corrupts my sharepoint server.

I am having following invironment:

Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1
Microsoft Office 2003
Microsoft Project Professional 2003
Microsoft Project Server 2003
Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services 2.0
Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Service Pack 3
Microsoft Analysis Services 2000 Service Pack 3

TG,
Be sure that the user account you are using (when using windows auth) - has
rights on the SQL server for DB Creators and Security Admins -
Also - be sure that the user account used for the App Pools has sufficient
rights - this user must have the same permissions as above - also - this user
account should be in the Administrators group (locally) and the OLAP
Adminstrators group (if you want to use the same account for that)

Also - be sure you are using the SP2 version of WSS - and you will need
SP2/2a for Project Pro 2003 /Project Server 2003

Thanks Eric,

I tried to install SP2a on sharepoint and it gave message that selected
patch is already applied. I also confirmed users and their rights as
you told in email and according to Installation Guide of Project
Server. My problem is still not solved. Can you help out?
Thanks

Tariq
