save as causes freeze in xp

Hi,

One of our employees is using Office XP Pro on a Windows XP Pro
system. The machine is a Compaq Presario 5000.

The problem she is having is that when she clicks "save as" and then
tries to navigate to a folder, the machine locks up completely and
even CTRL-AlT-DEL can't save it. If she clicks "save as" and doesn't
do anything accept change the name and accept the folder it happens to
be in at the time, it saves without issue.

Any ideas short from re-installing Office XP?
