Save As file location

each time i use "Save As" to create another copy of a file, the default
file location is the folder where i last saved an excel file... is it
possible to set excel to automatically save as in the same folder as
the original file i am saving?

(i have nothing written in the "Default file location" box in
Preferences)

I afraid you cannot set default save path to the same folder as the current
file. You're talking about a "variable default path". This is not the
"standard" for the majority of software and it'll cause problem to a lot of
users. (Maybe someone can correct me if I'm wrong.)

But I agree this feature could be useful sometimes. :>
