Save As file name menu

Using the "Save As" menu item. How can I delete the old
files in the in the file name drop down menu.

Go to Tools, Options, General tab, and un-check "Recently used file list,"
click OK. Now go back and re-select it to have it work again for future
files you open (if desired).
