Another issue I have been having (I am running XP SP3) is a good 75%
of the time if I am copying then saving to Word from another app like
Firefox or IE8, I click on the Word shortcut on my desktop, then "Save
As". It opens the "Save As" pop-up with "Save In" showing My Documents
(generic MS folder, not one I created).
Often at this point the pop-up becomes frozen in most places. If I
click on a subfolder nothing happens, if I click the "Up One Level"
icon nothing happens, if I click on the left side's folders nothing
happens. My workaround is to either right-click on one of those left
folders and then click anything at all there and it will let me go
back to the My Documents folder and open it and navigate to the folder
I wanted to initially save my doc to. I also can get around it by
clicking on the down arrow in the "Save In" window once, then it will
let me get around.
Any ideas on what is causing this? This started a good 7-8 mos. ago.
