Save as HTML for SharePoint?

We are creating a SharePoint directory for our technical drawings. Is there a
specific reason to save the drawings in HTML format – can I do anything
special with them if I do?

personally I would do both. one for a quick web view because if your at a
computer that doesn't have visio or the viewer it can be a bit of a pain to
view the visio diagram. also if you just want to quickly view a diagram then
pulling the file off the portal and then loading visio can take much longer
than just viewing the html version.

You obviously want to keep the visio version so that you can easily edit it
and sharepoint can keep track of who is doing the edits and the history of
that.

so the answer is, use both :)
the advantage to HTML is the speed and availability.
