I use Visio quite intensively for creating graphics - UI, logos, icons, etc.
I regularly output as EMF or PNG.
My first issue is that Visio is very poor (ie "buggy") at saving PNG (and
all the other formats) exactly as requested. More often than not if I
specify, say, 200x200 pixels I will get 201x201. But not always.
When saving as EMF there is a thin "margin" added to each image. So if I
have specifically tried to fill an entire region I will now get a thin
transperant edge with. This becomes impossible for "fitting" my image pieces
together.
And when saving as a PNG and specifying a transperancy colour I end up with
an anti-aliased "edge" of the transperancy colour.
Almost invariably I end up oversizing my images and then using a tool like
Photoshop or ye' ol' Microsoft Image Composer to trim the edges.
Is there anyway to make Visio work properly? Cheers.
