SAVE AS menus p[op up when I open Word

Whenever I open Word, I get two Save As menus pop up. I have to cancel each
one before I can proceed. It also appears it opens a document called
DOCUMENT1.DOC. When I close Word I have to say not to save the file.
Any thoughts.
