"Save As " options from desktop

I installed the Office 2007 Compatibility Pack on a workstation
running Office 2003. If one right-clicks on a .DOC file on the desktop and
selects "Save As," the only choices are for the two Office 2007 file
formats. Can this be modified so that .DOC is an option?

By the way, I have no idea why anyone would want to do this-- I'm a
network administrator and a user asked me why he couldn't do it. I had never
actually tried it myself.

I don't understand. How do you get a "save as" function by right-clicking on
a file on the desktop? The only way you get a "save as" AFAIK is when the
document is opened in one of the Office modules....

FWIW, if you install the Office 2007 Compatibility Pack on a machine
with Office 2003, you get a right-click "Save As.." option on .doc
files (not only on the desktop). You get an option to save as .docm or
..docx
