in Word 2004 for mac, in print dialogue menu, the save as pdf is dimme
and thus saving as pdf is not permitted. This used to work as recentl
as a couple weeks ago. I installed a new verion of Acrobat Reader
which may be the cuplrit. I have since reinstalled Word 2004
reinstalled the full version of Acrobat, deleted and readded my printe
but no difference. Can't seem to find any references to this proble
anywhere. Anyone have an idea? Thanks. John(5.0

I've never seen that before. I dont't see why it would be related to
Adobe Reader. I suspect either a problem in Word or in the System.

Is everything up to date in this regard (what version of MacOS X and
Office do you have exactly)? Did you repair permissions recently
(Through DiskUtility)??

And, if you reinstalled Word/Office without first uninstalling (or at least
trashing all preference files), you don't have a clean reinstall. The
procedure to follow is here:
<http://word.mvps.org/MacWordNew/RemoveReinstall.htm>
(If using Safari, hit Refresh once or twice; better yet, use another
browser.)

I'm not saying this will fix the problem, but you haven't yet eliminated a
problematic Office install as the cause.
