Save as

Hi,
When I have a file open (under project server connection) and I want to save
it on the server, I don't have the "Enterprise Projects" icon on the left. So
I can't save it.
I understand that this is some kind of setting on my PC. Does anyone know
which one?

Since you are working with Project Server, it is possible that this is a
server setting. It is not uncommon to have project server set up to not allow
project managers to create new projects on there. Check with your
administrator.

I'm trying to understand what's going wrong, but I need some more
information.
Could you please be more specific which steps you took to open the
project 'under project server connection'.

Where exactly do you expect to have a 'Enterprise Projects' icon?

If you have a new project, while you are connected to Project Server,
you can save it to Project Server by using the File => Save As option.
This will open a 'Save to Project Server' dialog box where you can enter
the project name, start date, etc. There is no Enterprise Projects icon.
If Save As doesn't popup this dialog box, you are not connected to
Project Server.

I hope this helps,
Hans

I have seen this problem before and I believe I know the solution to the
problem. Do the following:

1. Launch Project Professional 2007 and connec to Project Server.
2. Click Tools - Options.
3. Click the Save tab.
4. Click the Save Microsoft Office Project Files as pick list and choose
the "Project (*.mpp)" option.
5. Click the OK button.

My guess is that you have the "Microsoft Project 2000-2003 (*.mpp)" option
selected instead in step #4 above. Let us know if this helps.
