Save Changes Actually Performing an Update All

S

SueB

We are seeing the Save Changes acting like an Update All (where the new hours
are showing up to the manager for accepting but they have not yet been
submitted). To recreate this problem, the following steps were used:

1. User 1: Enter actual hours and click Update All
2. Project Manager: View the Updates tab to see the submitted hours
3. User 1: Go back to your Task view and add more actual hours and click on
Save Changes
4. Project Manager: View the Updates tab to see if your additional hours are
there (there were for the team members above).

Any suggestions, help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

If you do the Save first without doing the Update All, does the PM still
receive an update to process? I've seen where hours which have only been
saved are accepted into a project if the PM accepts other updates (font color
turns from red to black).

Sue:

This is an unfortunate limitation in the current version. The timesheet acts
like a bucket, and each user gets only one bucket to fill. So, if you hit
the Update button, the bucket is set to "ready to empty." If you then add
more hours, these get added to the "ready to empty" bucket. Get it?
