save changes to ...?

This annoying dialog box opens every time I wish to close some documents,
even if no changes were made.

I'm guessing this feature is embedded in the individual document. How do I
disable it?

Sounds like you may have a date field in those documents? Fields are
generally updated on open and/or print preview, so if a fields been updated,
whether the value actually changes or not, then the doc thinks it's been
changed.
