Save chime

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Processor: Intel We updated from an older version of word which had a chime sound when saving a file. My wife got to depend on this to confirm that she really had saved. This version does not seem to have that feature, or is it hidden somewhere?

Not exactly "hidden" Go to Word> Preferences> General, in the 'Authoring
& Proofing Tools' check the box for "Provide feedback with sound".
