Save Excel WB in .txt, while maintaining columnar look

Greetings:
Original Data: Excel 2003, SP2: Multiple Worksheets, most with multiple pages
Each Worksheet has a different layout (numbers and sizes of columns, etc)
than the others.

We are now at a stage where we want to use the data from these specific
Worksheets in our production system handouts - thereby eliminating one step
in our current process. However, that system will only accept text files
(.txt).
Is there any way of converting the worksheets to a .txt file, while
maintaining the "columnar" look, for readability purposes?
I'm open to any suggestions, even if it means a multi-step process, as long
as it can be automated somewhat.

Thanks in advance for your consideration

Thank-you
That looks real nice. However, as soon as I copy and paste into something
like Text Pad, the "columns" do still collapse.
It almost looks like I need to be able to fill (the balance of) each and
every cell with spaces, prior to copy/paste.
Any other ideas?
