Save file as sequential

Is there any code which would enable me to save the excel file as a
predefined sequential number.

I.E. I have products with serial numbers 050501AB, 050502AB etc etc

The serial number is scanned in by a barcode reader and located in a
predefined cell.
I want to save the excel workbook as this serial number automatically.

Any help would be appreciated.

ActiveWorkbook.SaveAs Filename:=Range("A1")

Replace A1 by your predefined cell! If you want to place the file in a
directory other then your default directory, insert also the required path:

savepath = "C:\dir1\dir2\"
ActiveWorkbook.SaveAs Filename:=savepath & Range("A1")
