save file

I wish to save a new file. the name is "newFile.mpp"

before that, I will check if "newFile.mpp" already open or exist first and
then if it exists or open, save the new file as "newFile_2.mpp", if
"newFile_2.mpp" already open or exist first and then if it exists or open,
save the new file as "newFile_3.mpp", how can I do it?
