Save in drop down in office apps crashes the application

When, in any office 2003 application, i go to file/save as then using the
drop down to save in another location the laptop crashes. This happens in any
office 2003 application.

Have tried re-installing office as well...but no luck.

Please help.

Right-click on the My Computer icon on the Windows desktop,
left-click on Disconnect Network Drive, and disconnect any mapped
drives that are not currently available.

exactly same with me; it's only just started in the last couple of weeks.
Garfields suggestion did not work for me. Please let me know if you find out
howto fix.
