Version: 2004
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Power PC
I have a number of fairly large workbooks with lots of links to other workbooks.
When I close and save one of those files Excel takes a long time and eventually comes up with a dialog "Save not completed File rename failed Cancel / Retry".
If I retry a number of times, most of the time Excel eventually manages to completely save the file. But for some files it seems that whatever the number of retry attempts, the operation just cannot complete.
Curiously enough, if I chose "Cancel" instead of "Retry" the file closes immediately AND ALL CHANGES ARE PROPERLY SAVED !!!!
Does anyone have an idea of what is happening? Can I safely select "Cancel" instead of "Retry" all the time (that would save me a lot of time!).
Thanks in advance
