i currently use windows 2004 for mac on a g5 tower. everytime i open
the program the toolbars revert to a 'default' state. no matter how
many times i turn the pdf toolbar off it is right there everytime i
open the program. everytime i open excel i also have to open the
formula toolbar but as soon as i close excel and reopen the pdf
toolbar is back and the formula bar is turned off. i am almost
positive this is due to the 'pdf' toolbar as i have nearly the same
problem in word

i have already gone thru the customize toolbars feature and it is no
help. i have used office for over 15 years on the pc side and i have
worked with mac's for over 10 years so this is not user error. this
is microsoft's or apple's inability to make a simple function
consistent thru platforms.

what do i need to do to fix this problem.any help would be greatly
appreciated

thx

Well, you are almost right. The problem is Adobe's, not apple or Microsoft.
The pdf toolbar is a poorly written annoying macro. To remove it look here:
